Complete dentures
A complete denture is a removable option when all teeth in one jaw are missing. Planning considers tissue support, speech, chewing and cleaning as well as appearance.

Assessment
The shape of the toothless ridge, soft tissues, saliva and jaw relationship are examined. Explain any movement, soreness or speech problems with a previous denture. Adjustment, replacement and other support options can then be considered separately.
Trial fittings
Impressions and jaw records are followed by checks of tooth arrangement, appearance and speech. Getting used to a new denture can take time. Follow the initial eating advice and attend the planned review for any necessary adjustment.
Daily use
Clean both the denture and your mouth as instructed. Follow the advice about removal, overnight wear and storage. Do not file a sore area yourself. Denture adhesive is not a substitute for assessing the cause of a poor fit.
Aftercare & Recovery Information
Follow practical guidelines for eating, cleaning and symptom management after treatment.
