Common Urgent Situations & First Steps
Severe throbbing pain not settling with pain relief, swelling in the face or neck, difficulty opening your mouth, and fever require prompt assessment by a dentist or urgent healthcare facility.
Facial or gum swelling often indicates infection (such as an abscess). Do not apply heat to the area; use a cold compress externally on the cheek and contact the clinic. If swelling affects breathing or swallowing, call 112 immediately in Türkiye.
If you have the broken fragment, keep it clean in a container (in milk or saliva if possible) and arrange an examination promptly. Depending on the break depth, the nerve tissue may be exposed; early assessment improves preservation options.
Advice differs for a knocked-out permanent tooth and a baby tooth; a baby tooth should not be replanted. For a permanent adult tooth, handle it by the crown (not the root), rinse gently if soiled, and seek professional dental emergency care without delay.
Our clinic is open Monday to Friday 09:00–21:00 and Saturday 09:00–18:00. Outside these hours, for severe uncontrolled bleeding, facial swelling affecting the airway, or major facial trauma, attend the nearest hospital emergency department.
